Integral Drive Shaft

An Integral Drive Shaft (gear shaft set) is manufactured out of one solid piece of steel, making them in many instances stronger and more durable.  Integral Shafts are available as Tapered, Keyed, or Splined.

Continental Drive Shaft

A Continental Drive Shaft arrangement is comprised of a drive gear and a drive shaft. Continental Shafts provide for greater flexibility to swap out or attach compatible shafts depending on the application needs as well as reducing inventory needs.  This arrangement may reduce the input torque (PL Factor) capability of the pump.  The PL factor should be either the connecting shaft PL or output shaft PL; whichever is LOWER when using this type of arrangement.  Continental Shafts are available as Keyed or Splined.
